WEST HEATH WEDDING| KENT WEDDING VENUE| WINTER WEDDING
One sure way to beat the January blues is to throw the biggest bash of a winter wedding right in the middle of January. Lucy and Ben did exactly this in the gorgeous surroundings of West Heath in Sevenoaks. Situated right in the heart of Kent, West Heath is nestled in a peaceful location. Driving up in the winter sunshine that morning, it looked pretty perfect – what a way to kick off the year!
Lucy is undoubtedly one of the most chilled out brides I have ever met. She had the biggest smile on her face from start to finish and not a hint of nerves even as she made her way from the Diana Room, where she spent the morning getting ready, down the huge staircase in her gorgeous dress to the Recital Room for the ceremony. Bride goals is an understatement!
Lucy and Ben tied the knot surrounded by friends and family in the suitably elegant setting of the Recital Room. With that winter sun streaming in through the huge windows, it was a natural light photographer’s dream. Venues with big windows make me SO happy!
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed champagne and mingling in the Oak Dining Room and some quick group shots out in the grounds in the sunshine. Meanwhile, the Rectial Room was transformed into a glittering, fairy-lit scene for the wedding breakfast and speeches.
The celebrations and dancing ran well in to the night. There was certainly no sign of dry January here! With the addition of a ceilidh, I just couldn’t bring myself to put the camera away. I’m sure there were plenty of sore feet the next day (mine included!) but it was absolutely worth it.
West Heath is a truly wonderful venue and one of my favourite places for a winter wedding. With all of that elegance, stunning oak features and cosy fireplaces, it somehow manages to be both grand and homely at the same time. What more could you want?
